The Connect Workshop

The Connect Project Community activation was brought to the community by acclaimed artists Jenelle and Kanika to disrupt and evolve what it means to connect. Created out of a need to break down the barriers they each faced in a digitally disconnected world they decided to create a new form of communication. Using their skills as artists they created items to share their stories with each other through the interpretation of emotion and physical senses. With backing from the Canada Council for the Arts they were determined to further develop this innovative new form of communication. Through participation with this activation the community was able to expand their knowledge of understanding of what it means to be inclusive. The community was able to aid in the expansion of this project by sharing their unique needs for access. The future of this project would be the distribution of a teachable workshop that can be shared across the country in hopes of uniting us through universal communication.
